The Red Rose Association together with the Gdansk University of Technology Student Government, the Alumni Association of the Gdansk University of Technology and the District Council of the Polish Students’ Union in the Tri-city area organise a nationwide competition “Maritime Education of Students” aimed at promoting the idea of maritime education among academic circles.
The main prize is PLN 10,000!
The mission of this undertaking is to shape among citizens a positive and emotional attitude to the sea and maritime culture. The national competition “Maritime Education of Students” is aimed at academic circles. The competition will evaluate projects completed within the last three years. The winners of the competition can be the organisers and/or participants of such projects as
a) events promoting maritime culture and economy organised in academic circles,
b) tourist rallies and social regattas on sea and river waters integrating students of Baltic universities,
c) sailing and rowing cruises and expeditions on the waters of the seas and oceans as well as on inland routes,
d) underwater tourism expeditions in sea and ocean areas and estuaries,
e) cognitive tourism expeditions in island, coastal and estuarine areas,
(f) conferences and scientific seminars organised on board sailing vessels,
(g) schools under sail for students on board sailing vessels
(h) comprehensive maritime education programmes for students carried out in Polish universities,
(i) outstanding achievements of academic sailing clubs and sections, rowing clubs and diving clubs
j) outstanding projects of students’ scientific circles concerning the use of marine resources, maritime and intermodal transport for the development of the country.
In order to participate in the competition, it is necessary to fill in the form, prepare a presentation, attach the recommendation of the university and send the above-mentioned documents in electronic version by 25.04.2015 to the email address:

and on paper to the following address:

with the inscription “Maritime education of students”.
Fifteen best initiatives will be selected from the submitted presentations. Nominated teams/individuals will be invited for a weekend to Gdansk, where they will have to present their projects in front of the jury. We kindly invite you to take part in the competition!
