“Malaysia’s ‘Iron Lady’ took on the diving challenge at the age of 73!

Malaysia’s former Minister of Industry and International Trade Rafidah Aziz didn’t mind her age – 73! – she decided to be adventurous and set out to conquer the deep. As she confessed, diving was her great dream, which she thought she would never be able to realise. She shared her experience on social media, proving to everyone that it’s never too late to make dreams come true!

[blockquote style=”2″]”To be able to dive in and see with my own eyes, a wonderful underwater world that is full of all-encompassing, beautiful life? It was just fantastic!” – shared the former minister on her social networking profile[/blockquote].

During her underwater voyages, she managed to visit the beautiful spots of Koh Adang, Koh Lipe, Koh Rok Nok and Similian, located in the Andaman Sea. The “iron lady” herself stresses that everything she experienced was possible thanks to her patient and extremely meticulous instructors.

Already the first dive, which lasted barely 30 minutes and took place at a depth of 5 meters, provided incredible excitement. Rafidah Aziz was then able to admire the coral reef life near Koh Adang. Due to the underwater conditions, she could easily observe the underwater inhabitants at depths of more than 20 metres.

There was no shortage of disappointments either, but hopefully these will only encourage further immersions…

[blockquote style=”2″]”The most fun I had was diving to a depth of 27 metres at a place known as Koh Bon. I hoped we would be able to see mantas there, but they didn’t show up that day! What amazing sights await underwater, wonderful works of the Almighty!” – she concluded[/blockquote].

Rafidah Aziz is living proof that there is no such term as “too late” in life. Everything is a matter of desire, motivation and the right attitude. It’s worth remembering that if you really want something, it’s possible!
