As far as the technical specifications are concerned, Helios is equipped with 3 CREE® XPL LEDs, which translates into a light intensity of 3000 LM with a power of 35 W. The light has a cold white colour. In the newest Ammonite torch there are 3 intensity levels available, which can be selected using a magnetic switch. In case of low battery, the torch will notify us in advance.
The entire case is made of rugged anodised aluminium and extremely resistant derlin. Helios measures 101 mm in length and has a diameter of 48 mm. The LEDs are hidden behind 6mm thick tempered glass. On the surface, the torch weighs 223 grams, while in water it weighs just 100 grams. Its maximum operating range has been set to a depth of 200 metres.
How long can Helios operate underwater? This of course depends on several factors, and the most important is the capacity of our battery. At full light output, the 7 Ah Lithum battery will be sufficient for 2 hours of work. The capacity of 12 Ah will provide 3.5 hours of illumination. On the other hand, in the case of large capacities, such as 18 Ah and 24 Ah, it will be respectively 5 hours and 10 minutes and 7 hours.
We hope to write more about Helios in the near future, when we will already have the opportunity to test it in combat conditions! In the meantime, you can look out for the latest model of the light from Polish manufacturer Ammonite System among authorised distributors throughout the country.
