Current mobile phones (and smartphones in particular) have better and better built-in cameras. Especially interesting would be the option of shooting movies with a phone, if we could do it e.g. underwater… A Korean company Patima, which creates equipment for underwater photography, meets the expectations of its customers with a similar offer.

The brand’s latest product, iPatima, allows you to protect your iPhone 4 or 4s and use some of its features while diving. If you thought it was all about 4-5m reef videos, you might be a bit mistaken about the capabilities of this inconspicuous case. The pressure that the iPatima can withstand allows you to use it to a depth of… 300m!

The case is a solid piece of metal that weighs 400g without the phone. It’s superbly finished and precisely crafted. You don’t have to worry that in the event of a fall or other collision, something will happen to it (much less the phone hidden inside).

Our phone is operated by 5 buttons, but for this to be possible, we need to have the latest software uploaded to our iPhone. Additionally, in the phone’s options, you need to disable automatic screen locking and place it inside the iPatim when it is active.

To become a happy owner of “dryer” for our iPhone we will have to reckon with the expense of £270. We must admit that in comparison with the competition and the possibilities offered by this housing (300m!), it is a very interesting product. Its attractiveness is increased by new additions, creating more and more opportunities to take underwater photos.
