The wreck of a 1987 Ferrari Mondial was found at the bottom of the harbour in Amsterdam, and then excavated. The car is a true automotive gem and from a diver’s perspective, the opportunity to find such a machine is certainly an unforgettable experience.

From the Amsterdam harbour, divers have unearthed a sunken… Ferrari! On 17 June 2020, divers of the Dutch fire brigade found at the bottom of the Amsterdam harbour a real automotive marvel – a Ferrari Mondial, model from 1987. Another dive to the wreck was made on 29 June, but due to a large amount of mud and sand it was not possible to examine or extract the car.

De Ferrari uit 1987 die op 17 juni bij toeval door brandweerduikers tijdens een trainingsdag werd gevonden in het water van de Javakade, is na grondige voorbereidingen op 9 juli aan het eind van de dag eindelijk boven water gekomen. In such a situation, an operation was meticulously prepared to raise and retrieve the unusual wreck from the water. Then, on 9 July, divers prepared the wreck and shortly afterwards the Ferrari was back on the surface.

From the Amsterdam harbour, divers have unearthed a sunken… Ferrari! The fished-out car is currently being examined by the police. Investigators must now establish whether it was used to commit a crime. According to information given by a witness, the car was stolen many years ago.
