The national media and local portals have reported the end of the search for a missing 3.5-year-old boy from Nowogrodziec. Unfortunately, the worst-case scenario involving the death of little Kacper has come true. The body of the child, who had been missing for two weeks, was found and retrieved from the Kwisa river by a local diver.

Today, Saturday 9 May, during the 13th day of the search for the missing Kacper, his body was found and extracted from the Kwisa river. Much of the credit for this goes to Marcel Korkus, a figure well known in our environment for his dives at extreme heights and a world record holder. What few people know, however, is that Marcel is a professional diver and an expert witness, and therefore has a lot of experience in similar searches.

Marcel Korkuś was involved in the search for little Kacper from the very beginning. He conducted the search in constant contact with the police. In the evening of 8 May, he noticed the child’s body while looking through film documentation recorded during the day.

After consulting their observations with the police and analysing the material together, it was determined that the image indicated was most likely the corpse of the wanted Kacper. The boy’s body was found entangled in branches at a depth of 1.5m and was retrieved today, Saturday 9 May, at around 11am.
