The National Geographic station will air the first episode of the new season of the series Expedition to the Bottom tonight at 10 pm.
All lovers of wreck diving and history will be pleased to know that the fifth season of the series Drain The Ocean, which in Poland is broadcast under the title Expedition to the Bottom, starts tonight. It is our country that has been chosen by National Geographic to host the worldwide premiere of the new season. It is also worth noting that this is not the only Polish accent.
The first episode of the fifth season, titled Amber Chamber, takes a look at the expedition of divers of the Baltictech group to the wreck of the German steamer SS Karlsruhe. The finding of the wreck caused quite a sensation and extremely high interest not only in diving circles. Ultimately, the whole affair ended with the largest diving expedition in the history of our country. However, is the Karlsruhe wreck case really over for good? We are still waiting to find out the answer to this question.
The story of the discovery and subsequent exploration of the steamer extensively we reported on our portal and on the pages of DIVERS24 magazine. If you feel that the latest episode of Expedition to the Bottom did not exhaust the topic, we encourage you to read our archive materials. In addition to plenty of first-hand information, you will also find many photos documenting the condition of the wreck.
Anyone heading to the Baltictech conference in Gdynia on the weekend of November 26-27 will learn a lot more about the group’s latest activities. Wanting to get in the right mood, in addition to today’s episode of Expedition to the Bottom, we recommend listening to the latest episode of the From Under the Water podcast, in which Tomasz Stachura talks about wrecks and Baltictech ‘s activities.
The fifth season of Expedition to the Bottom consists of nine episodes, which the station will air in November and December 2022. The titles of the individual episodes are Pearl Harbor, Underwater Treasures, Secrets of Naval Battles, Secret of the Annihilation of Pompeii, Amber Chamber, Lost Film Set, Wrecks of the Gulf of Mexico, Mayan Civilization and Drug Smugglers. As you can see, it promises to be very diverse and extremely interesting, so there is nothing left to do but watch.
