End of winter and informal season opening

It is official: winter is over. It was intense, but short. Nevertheless, it allowed for some great ice diving. It happened so because of the speed at which the frost attacked, covering most of the lakes with crystal ice, several dozen centimetres thick. In connection with this fact, we have 2 pieces of information for you today.

The first one is that for the next 2 weeks we are waiting for your photos from courses and ice dives. From the best ones we will create a gallery and put them on our portal! Let your friends and diving centres and clubs know about it. Let’s see how winter was used by diving Poland! Do not forget to sign the photos well (Who? Where?). Send 1-3 photos to the address of our editorial office – redakcja@divers24.pl

The second piece of information came to us from Warsaw. The local group of divers, associated under the banner of GEPN, is planning to carry out an informal opening of the season. The action is planned for 31.03.2012, on the occasion of a visit to the MartJack Extreme Sports Centre, which is gaining more and more popularity.

As the organisers tell us, this is a great opportunity to check our diving gear in controlled conditions before the actual start of the season, in open water. It is also a good opportunity to see the 10m deep pool, located inside an old grain silo.

Admission is free for divers of the Exploring Podwarszawskie Diving Group, but to avoid unforeseen logistical problems, registration is mandatory. The dive will take place after the BLS training and priority will be given to those attending the training. More information about the training and registration, you will find on the official profile of GEPN.
