Dr Craig Cook new member of the DAN board of directors

Divers Alert Network has announced that Craig Cook has joined the organisation’s board of directors. Dr Cook specialises in anaesthesiology, as well as the topics of diving, hyperbaric and sports medicine, among others. As a doctor he has also taken part in many diving expeditions.

The commitment to safe exploration of the deep sea that he has demonstrated over many years fits perfectly with DAN ‘s mission and makes him a downright ideal addition to the organisation’s board of directors.

It is worth mentioning that Dr Cook is also an advanced technical diver, dive instructor and physician who has extensive experience in caring for dive accident victims in many remote locations around the world. In addition to his medical practice and work as a professor of medicine, Cook has been involved in expeditions to Antarctica, the Phoenix Islands, the Line Islands, the Battle of the Atlantic wrecks, the wreck of the USS “Monitor” and much more.

In the past he was also editor of Sport Diver magazine for 16 years, focusing on dive medicine topics. He has published on the topics of search and rescue, dive medicine and dangerous sea creatures. He has lectured around the world at many universities, for diving and scientific organisations, and as a speaker at many medical conferences.
