Books have made the perfect gift for all occasions since time immemorial. And can there be a better gift for a diver than a book about diving? Probably yes, but not everyone has the budget and gesture to give a rebreather or a trip to the Maldives. Often our relationship makes it hard to match the price range with the gift recipient. A book is the perfect solution, and in the case of a diver of course a book on diving. In this way, we not only give someone a nice gift, but also show that we know how important his underwater passion is for him.
When creating DIVERS24, we set ourselves various goals. However, we have not forgotten that as a medium we also have a mission. Popularisation of diving literature and press is one of its most important elements. Especially in times where the level of readership is far from ideal, and books compete with much easier and more visually attractive forms of media.
This is why we are always on the lookout for new dive books that we could put in our shop. In this way, over several years we have been able to create the largest collection of diving books available from hand.
Among the items available today, there are books on diving with a wide variety of content. For lovers of “diver”, or dive watches, we have a unique and fantastically published book-album Time at depth – the history of diving watches. Its author Mateusz Piechnik has put in a lot of work, supported by a lot of knowledge and supplemented by a huge number of graphic materials and photos. As a result, he has managed to create an item that can not only introduce you to the world of diver’s watches, but also teach you how to move efficiently in it.
In turn The Way of Death by Tomasz Stachurais the result of combining many years of passion for diving, history, underwater photography and searching for wrecks. The result is an attempt to tell the tragic chapter of World War II, which was the evacuation of people from East Prussia, carried out as part of Operation Hannibal. Everything presented from a completely different, more diving perspective. The whole is of course complemented by fantastic photos, which together with the content create an unusual whole. This is a diving book that every wreck and history lover simply must have.
A separate paragraph should be devoted to the amazing work Karina Kowalska does. Curator of the Museum of Diving in Warsaw, she simply does not stop in writing and publishing diving books. The subject matter? As wide and extensive as you can get. Among the items published by the Museum of Diving we can find. Karl Heinrich Klingert citizen of Wroclaw, Medusa. The First Polish Batingnautical Experiment, Polish Navy Divers 1919-1938 in Photographs, Divers from the wreck of the “Gneisenau”, Diving equipment in Poland 1945-1989 and History of Kaszëbë Bronek Kąkola a diver of the Port Reconstruction Bureau.
Of course, these are not all the diving books you will find in our shop. But, as you can see, there is plenty to choose from. Whether for your loved ones or for yourself, you are sure to find something that catches your eye.
