Nominations are now being accepted for the prestigious award in the diving community – the DAN/Rolex Awards. For the past 25 years, DAN and Rolex have annually honoured an individual who has made a significant contribution to improving recreational diver safety or promoting the ideals that guide DAN. Both global and local activities are taken into account. Although many previous winners have been professional divers, divers of all levels and non-divers can also be nominated. It is not the range of activities or diving qualifications held by the nominee that is important, but the impact of their work that is the reason for the nomination.

If you would like to make a nomination, just send a brief description of your individual merits and contributions to DAN’s diving, safety or mission. Here is the email address: gyoung@dan.org. Nominations may be sent via regular mail to DAN / Rolex Award, Divers Alert Network, 6 Colony Place West Durham, NC, 27705.

All nominations must be received no later than 31 December 2012. The winner will receive a commemorative Rolex watch!
