Projekt Kamieniołom (The Quarry Project) – this is the name under which a very interesting idea is being implemented, thanks to which the Polish diving community will be enriched with another interesting diving site. Currently, preparations are underway, further attractions are being assembled and set up, which will eventually be placed underwater and will please the eyes of divers visiting the site.

The first information, photos and videos showing the progress of the works and preparations appeared online last week. Although the location is still a mystery, as far as we have managed to establish, the quarry is located near Wrocław.

From the information available on the official profile of the Quarry Project we can learn, among other things, that in addition to many attractions underwater, the creators have also planned to create infrastructure on the surface, which will significantly increase the comfort of visiting divers. In shelters, in addition to a place where it will be possible to change clothes, showers with hot water will also be available. It will take some time to complete, but the screed has already been laid and the first shelter structures have been erected.

As far as diving is concerned, the quarry walls have been protected in order to ensure proper visibility when the site opens its doors to visitors, so as to avoid a situation where dust and silt stirred up by careless divers could make it difficult for other visitors to use the facility. Therefore, part of the walls are also lined with foil, bags to weigh the whole down, and special rubber.

From the materials which have already been made available on the project website we know that at the bottom there will be, among others, trolleys used for transporting excavated material, as well as… a tram! Straight from central Poland, from the city of Łódź, deprived of windows, doors, protected against rusting and devoid of elements which could be snagged during the exploration of its interior. In short, made to be shiny and perfect for an underwater attraction!

Of course, that is not all! For more information, please visit Quarry projectwhere the creators regularly post new materials and are waiting for ideas and suggestions as to what else you would like the emerging facility to offer to visiting divers.
