During a dive in one of the most famous locations in Dahab – The Bells, Elzbieta Benducka, set a new depth record in women’s technical diving – 190. During the preparations, as well as during the dive itself, Ella was supported by Marcin Chochor.

The new record is not the first to fall to our compatriot. In 2000. During a dive in the Blue Hole she set the bar at the depth of 137m. It should be added that at that time she was one of the few women diving technically.

Thanks to her achievements, in 2004 she was invited to participate as a support in Nuno Gomes’ record-breaking dive. The South African diver set a still unbeaten world record of 318m.

For all those who would like to find out more about women’s technical diving and learn more about the story of Elżbieta Benducka, we recommend going to a meeting with the record-holder and Marcin Chochor organised as part of the 2 Sports Film Festival. It will take place on 4 December at 8 p.m. in the club Hidden City and on 5 December at 8 p.m. in the Krakow club U Louisa.

The meeting will also include a screening of ‘Submerged’, a production dealing with a 221m dive by Verna van Schaik.
