Rescuers focused on a thorough sweep of the waters of the Sunda Strait in Banten province, where the three men were last seen on Sunday afternoon. The missing men are three tourists, two Chinese nationals and a Singaporean resident.
It is known from official data reported by local media that 9 vessels and a helicopter are searching for the missing. The wanted divers were staying with friends on Sangiang Island, about 30 minutes from Merak Port.
On Sunday, 6 of them went for a dive, but only 3 people returned from the water after an hour. Rescuers assume that the missing divers may have been swept away by the current and carried into the Indian Ocean.
