We present you with some amazing footage taken as part of the BBC series ‘Frozen Planet’, which airs in the UK.

The accelerated video sequence shows the formation of an ice icicle, under the ice of the Arctic waters, near Little Razorback Island, the smallest island in the Ross Archipelago. Forming all the way to the bottom, it kills everything it comes into contact with on its way.

The video was recorded at the foot of the Mount Erebus volcano, in -2°C water by Hugh Miller and Doug Anderson.
