Today we present more news with which PADI enters the 2015 season. In the following text, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the Elearnin platform and the free provisional Ecard certificate.
The original PADI online training platform is available for students to complete course knowledge tests at their own pace anywhere there is internet access.
PADI members can now purchase eLearning programs at member prices. This system has replaced the old procedure where PADI members could only buy PADI eLearning products for resale to students by purchasing an eLearning Gift Pass. This also means that it is no longer necessary to give a profit share to PADI Dive Centres and Resorts that have purchased eLearning products.
Open Water Diver eLearning is only sold as part of the Open Water Certification Pak – Online. Open Water Diver eLearning is no longer sold to PADI members or customers without an included certification fee.
Intended for: Computers
Compatibility: Windows and OS X operating systems
Where to find it: Website – padi.com/elearning
Internet: Needed for the entire program
Programs: Open Water Diver Online, Advanced Open Water Diver Online, Rescue Diver Online, Dive Theory Online, Digital Underwater Photographer Online, Enriched Air Diver Online, Scuba Tuneup Online, Divemaster Online and Instructor Development Course Online.
Languages: English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Italian, French, Dutch, Russian, Chinese and Korean – depending on programme
Elements: Course syllabus, learning objectives, videos, knowledge tests, quizzes and exams
Sales: For PADI members (via PADI sales consultants and the Online Shopping Cart) and for customers (via padi.com and the PADI App, a share of profits is donated to PADI Dive Centres and Resorts)
Ecard certification
Free 30-day certificate eCards for new PADI divers Freshly certified PADI divers receive a free temporary certificate eCard upon course completion. This eCard certificate, valid for 30 days, is an immediate confirmation of course completion and can be used by divers while they wait for their plasma certificate. The current procedure does not change – this is an additional certificate issued together with the provisional certificate (valid for 90 days) received by your students.
The eCard certificate is professional and convenient for divers as it is stored on a portable device. Students are also reassured as it is much harder to lose or destroy than a standard temporary certificate.
How it works:
– When PADI is in the process of processing the certificate, it sends an email to the diver to download their free eCard certificate from the PADI App. Divers have 15 days to activate their eCard and their plastic certificate is issued and sent.
– Divers use the link from the email to log in.
– The eCard certificate is deleted after 30 days. A timer shows how many days are left before the eCard expires.
– Divers continue to receive their PADI plastic certificates.
Professional PADI members can order eCards for their divers through the Online Processing Center after the PIC Online processing is completed. This way, your students will receive an eCard with no time limit before they receive their plastic certificate.
Designed for: Tablets and mobile devices
Compatibility: Apple iOS and Android devices
Where to find it: PADI App
Internet: Needed to download initial eCard certificates
Courses: Diving courses at all levels (except Discover Scuba® Diving program, Emergency First Response course participants and Master Scuba Divers level divers)
Language: English only
Components: Digital eCard certificate
Sale: Free to new divers, valid for 30 days
