Freediving under ice - Extremall 2018 - preview

Also in 2018, once again in the waters of Lake Hancza, freedivers will enjoy frosty depth and time diving in a particularly frosty event called – “Extremall”.

On the last weekend of January, 26-27, freedivers will dive freely under the ice for the eighth time. The goal of the main competition is to dive in any thick suit to a depth of 15 metres and stay under the surface as long as possible – on one breath of course.

The winner will be the one who overcomes the cold and the urge to breathe longer than the other competitors. And for the daredevils, a second competition will be held – in this one, the rules will be very similar, but with one small difference… the competitors will have to dive in their swimsuit only!

How many truly ‘extreme’ divers will get the courage this year? How long will the best freedivers be able to stay breathless under the ice? Will they beat the best results from the edition 2 years ago, which were over 3 minutes? And the most important question… will we be lucky with ice in 2018!

We will find out at the end of January, and all those interested are encouraged to participate and cheer.

19:00 – start of registration, accommodation of competitors

Saturday 27.01.2018

Guest House on Lake Hańcza, Mierkinie 7,16-407 Wiżajny
9:00 – opening of the competition, briefing of competitors
11:00 – start of the first competitor, starts every 8 minutes
13:30 – non-competitive, open diving test without wetsuits (for those willing :D)
14:30 – lunch for competitors and organizers
15:30 – 19:00 – free time (optional trip to Ruska Banya)
19:00 – official closing of the event, prize giving
20:00 – extreeeeemalnnna freedivers party

Conditions for participation and applications

1. Registration – details on how to register on SFP website
2. payment of entry fee:
– 350 zł for members of the Freediving Poland Association (click and find out how to become a member of SFP);
– 400 zł for other competitors;

The Extremall 8 entry fee covers the costs:

– accommodation on 26/27.01 and 27/28.01.2018;
– lunch and dinner on 27.01.2017;
– presence of a paramedic during the competition;
– preparation and equipment of the diving site;
– shirts

Qualification for the competition takes place after receipt of the form and the entry fee is credited to the SFP account.

Requirements for players:

1. submission of a medical certificate of no impediment to diving (entry in the diving booklet or form),
2. at least 18 years of age (or 16 years of age and written consent of both parents, with one parent present in person)
3. presentation of identity card or passport
