Located in the North Pacific Ocean, the body of water that separates the territory of the Russian Federation and the USA is known for several reasons, and now comes another. It is here, in a place called the Bering Strait, that during the last ice age the water level was low enough to allow the migration of people and animals from Asia to North America.

As it turns out, it is also here that frozen gold deposits are hidden. Their exploration is hampered by weather and low temperatures. The short period of summer is the only time when it is possible to undertake the exploration of the resources hidden in the depths.

Thanks to a production by the scientific Discovery Channel, we can follow the actions of daredevils who, in the name of wealth, are not afraid of the risks and difficult conditions prevailing in this part of the globe.

4 teams, representing the crews of 4 dredgers, will explore the area around Nome, a town located in Alaska, a major commercial and tourist centre and, most importantly, with a rich tradition of gold mining.
