The camp will be held from 01/08/2013 to 16/08/2013 at the Baltic Sea, at the ZHP’s “Róża Wiatrów” camp site in Szklana Huta, Pomorskie Voivodeship. The project is addressed to young enthusiasts of the sea and marine life. Camp activities will be conducted by specialists and will focus on learning in fun and recreation. Topics will include marine biology, ecology, geography, geology, marine chemistry and marine physics. The camp will be very different from school classes. We focus on adventure, recreation, fun, experiments, field workshops, games, competitions, meetings with interesting people and projects carried out in small groups by the participants. We also plan excursions to interesting places connected with water, the sea and sea animals. We want every participant to have fond memories of the camp while acquiring specific oceanographic knowledge.

Additionally in the programme:

– Photography workshop – photographing nature

– ham radio workshop – establishing radio contact with ships, research stations and islands

– First aid course

– Classes on marine mammal conservation programmes in Poland conducted by WWF Poland

– Snorkelling – basics of snorkelling – classes conducted by the Diving Technology Centre “Piórewicz” from Gdynia.

– Classes and presentations on Baltic life and wrecks in the Baltic Sea conducted by specialists from the Piórewicz Diving Technology Centre from Gdynia.

Planned excursions:

– Gdynia Aquarium – educational activities and sightseeing

– Ocean Park in Władysławowo

– Sealarium of the Marine Station in Hel

“Morświn 2013″ is organised by ZHP Polkowice in cooperation with organisations and institutions connected with the sea.

Cost of participation: PLN 1450 (excluding travel costs)

From years of experience we know that when organising nationwide camps, it is best for participants to get there themselves. Therefore, the cost of travel is not included in the participants’ fee. Before the camp we will enable participants to exchange contacts in order to make it easier to find travelling companions for those who want to come in a group. We also know from experience that participants are often brought by their parents.

Accommodation: tents for several persons, beds – canoes
