Due to the restrictions that have affected all industries in recent years, divers have also been affected. One of the inconveniences we faced was the postponement of the 10th Baltictech conference. Fortunately, we have recently the organisers have announced that the event will go ahead on the weekend of 26-27 November 2022.

Now they have made public further details of the 10th anniversary Baltictech conference. What many people were wondering about was certainly the new location. The previous four editions took place in the Science and Technology Park in Gdynia. The place seemed ideal and was a big leap in quality after the previous conferences organised in the “Gdynia” hotel. Unfortunately, with time Baltictech grew to such an extent that the rooms and corridors in PNT became a bit cramped.

New location for the 10th Baltictech jubilee conference

Taking this fact and a number of other factors into account, the organisers have decided to open another chapter. That is why the jubilee 10th Baltictech conference will be held in a new location. As it turned out, it will be held at the Main Library of the Naval Academy in Gdynia.

Today we will introduce you to the beautiful venue where this year’s Conference will be held. It is the building of the Central Library of…

The building is located in Gdynia Oksywie, near the Divers and Scuba Divers Training Centre of the Polish Navy. The new location certainly offers a number of interesting possibilities. Among the important changes is certainly access to a swimming pool. This will allow the organisation of a number of initiatives such as workshops, intro dives or equipment presentations.

It is worth mentioning that the famous “spittoons” are located nearby. This is a former Kriegsmarine facility, where the crews of German submarines – U-boats– were trained. The organisers have already announced that there will be an opportunity to visit this historic facility.

The facility has an auditorium for 500 people and two smaller lecture theatres. The whole facility will easily accommodate all of us and twice as many exhibitors as last time. And with that, as you remember, there was a problem in 2019. Baltictech’s announcement reads.

Further announcements with information on speakers and side events of the conference will follow shortly.

There are places where access is practically impossible and only occasionally a lucky few get to see them with their own eyes. They certainly include the flooded La Morépier mine in Belgium, which our editorial colleague Stefan Panis wrote about. You will find his article in the 18th issue of our the DIVERS24 quarterly magazine! The digital version of the magazine is available free of charge, while the printed version can be purchased from our online shop.
