In less than two months the 7th edition of the international technical diving conference Baltictech will begin. On 21-22 November divers from around the world will meet in Gdynia to listen to lectures by experts, participate in workshops and share their experiences.
Speakers
The topics of this year’s Baltictech will be very diverse, which suggests that every conference participant will find something for themselves. The names of several speakers are already known. Among them are: Becky Kagan Schott, Steve Jones, Marek Kamiński, Paul Raymakers, Simon Mitchell, Adam Borzyszkowski, Dominik Graczyk “Honzo”, Cesare Balzi, Kamil Iwankiewicz, Tomasz Żabierek, Phil Short, Benedykt Hac, Tomasz Michura, Radosław Sieniawski. And the guest list is not yet closed.
Simon Mitchell – an anaesthetist, specialising in diving medicine, a world authority on hyperbaric medicine – deserves much attention. Author of over 100 articles on diving topics widely published in the literature.
Another is Steve Jones – journalist and photographer for the Ocean Geographic Society. For many years he has been developing techniques to capture the colour of wide angle images with only a small amount of natural light available at considerable depths.
“With each edition we try as organisers to raise the level of our conferences. We want it to be no different this year. There are so many interesting topics that we would like to discuss, but we are limited by time – two days of the conference. I believe, however, that participants will come to us to gain new, valuable knowledge, and leave richer in experience, which they will be able to exchange with fellow divers from around the world.” – said Tomasz Stachura, head of Baltictech.
Attractions for participants
A big attraction for this year’s participants will be the opportunity to visit the Diver and Scuba Training Centre in Gdynia on Sunday afternoon. Registration will be possible from Saturday morning at the reception.
Sponsors
This year’s conference sponsors are: SUEX as strategic sponsor and gold sponsors: Apeks, SANTI Diving and Halcyon. As every year, participants will have a chance to win
valuable prizes, among others: 2 XJoy7 underwater scooters from SUEX, a set of Apeks Black Sapphire automatics. And that’s not all.
Exhibitors
Conference participants will also have the opportunity to learn about new products and talk directly to representatives of diving companies. Many companies have announced their participation as exhibitors. Among them are: SANTI Diving, Technika Podwodna, Centrum Techniki Nurkowej, Light for me, Triton, Born2Dive, Divemania, Divers Guide, IDF, Divesoft, Dive Pro, JML Diving, SeaYa, Cave Mexico, DUI, PSAI, OMS, No Gravity, SeaWolf, Nautica Mare, iQsub, Argentario Divers, Ammonite.
Baltictech
Baltictech is organised every 2 years. The Polish event has grown to become one of the largest and most popular in Europe. This year the organisers are expecting 500 participants. Tickets can still be purchased via the website www.baltictech.com. All lectures and classes will be translated simultaneously – from Polish into English and vice versa.
