A tragic incident occurred in the Bahamas. According to foreign media reports, a 21-year-old US student was attacked by sharks and unfortunately died as a result of her injuries. According to available information, the attack was unprovoked.

The fatal attack occurred in the waters surrounding Rose Island. A young woman was in the water where she snoorked while admiring the famous local wild pigs. At some point sharks appeared nearby. A family present on the boat tried to warn the girl, but unfortunately she did not hear them.

Local police reported that a female US student was attacked by three sharks. The woman suffered a number of serious injuries in multiple places on her body, and her right arm was simply jerked off. After being pulled from the water, she was immediately transported to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her.

Available information does not state which species of shark was the perpetrator of the attack. The death of the young American woman is the first such case in the Bahamas in 10 years.
