Not so long ago, Polish divers improved the Guinness record for the number of witnesses at an underwater wedding. Dariusz “Miodzio” Wilamowski, in turn, is preparing to break the world record for the deepest dive. Today, however, let us introduce you to an achievement from 2010, which is even more unique and “crazy” than the ones mentioned before – the Guinness record in underwater ironing!

With the end of spring 2010, the Centre for Unusual Crocodile Diving conducted an action mobilizing divers, to iron their wetsuits and dryers, during a collective diving. The originator and initiator of the whole action was Igor Bartoszewicz, who on the Municipal Beach in Olsztyn, managed to gather 130 divers! This result was quite a surprise, because to beat the previous record (2009. England – 86 divers) only 87 people were enough.

The preparations took several days. At a depth of 3.5m, a series of “stations” were installed at which the great ironing was to take place. The whole action lasted 10 minutes, during which all participants had to work their irons at the same time for the record to be recognised.

It is worth mentioning that this was the largest joint dive in Poland. Never before has it been possible to mobilise such a large group of divers to dive together. Below, we present a video recording of the entire event:
