Among the sunken vehicles which form an underwater museum of military vehicles, include tanks, armoured personnel carriers, cannons and even a helicopter. As well as being a diving attraction, the sunken objects will also become home to many local species of marine creatures.

Local authorities claim that the creation of an underwater military vehicle museum offers a whole new type of experience for tourists. The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), on the other hand, stressed that the new facility combines sports, environmental care and a museum display.

A total of 19 machines were sunk, which will form an underwater museum of military vehicles. All rested in the waters of the Red Sea at the bottom of the Gulf of Aqaba, at a depth of no more than 30 metres. The creators arranged the military equipment in a way that mimics a battle formation during combat.

Care has of course been taken to ensure that the objects to be flooded are properly prepared. As all vehicles have been cleaned and stripped of hazardous components beforehand, this will avoid negative impact the environment. The submerged vehicles will thus also be safe for underwater tourists.

Although underwater museum military vehicles will be open to divers, freedivers, snoorkers and tourists in glass-bottomed boats will also benefit. It must be said that no other place in the world can boast such a diving attraction.
