In bodies of water all over Poland, we can come across various sunken objects, such as buses, cars or excavators. The dinosaur park will be a unique idea on a European scale and is expected to be an important tourist attraction and a strong incentive for young people, encouraging them to dive.

As the author of the idea argues, encountering a dinosaur underwater creates many more opportunities:

“In a typical Jurassic park we walk up to a dinosaur and reach it, at most, halfway. You can stand by its leg and take a photo, and that’s all our sightseeing. But underwater we can, thanks to the weightlessness, hover in the depths and look into its mouth, into its eyes, and that’s what’s exciting.”

The creators of the park are planning an additional attraction that will be visible not only underwater, which will astonish all those who decide to visit Plotki Lake.

“My brother has yet come up with the idea of making one of the dinosaurs emerge. There is already a construction prepared that will allow it to emerge from the water almost halfway up its body,” – reports Travinski.

In addition to the entertainment aspect, the educational potential of such an interesting place has not been forgotten. It is a well-known fact that it is much easier and quicker to acquire knowledge in places such as the underwater park in Płotki than at a school desk.

It will also be a little geography lesson as you will be able to find out the names of the dinosaurs, what they ate and when they lived. A triceratops, one large and one small, will appear at the bottom of the lake. We have already ordered an eoraptor – a lizard whose head and paws will be movable, and it will move under water, ” assure the originators

The initiative received a very positive reception and interest not only from the local community but also from representatives of the authorities.

“Let’s hope there are more ideas like this, because so far not much has been happening in Plotki. I hope that such initiatives will attract further investors who will want to commit their money and time,” – reports Dariusz Kubicki, director of MOSiR

The underwater exhibition will be made of laminate, which is used in the production of boats or kayaks, while the paint with which the dinosaurs will be painted is very resistant to water, which should ensure long and trouble-free maintenance of the whole in the best order.
