The Tusa Paragon S (M1007S), is a single-glass diving mask that is a development and successor to the 2018 Paragon model with split glass. The whole mask has been painstakingly designed and constructed using a number of proprietary technologies developed by Tusa.
As for the glass, this time the manufacturer opted for a single variant, which uses a UV420 lens. This allows the mask to protect the user’s eyes from harmful UV and HEV radiation in all conditions. In turn, the CrystalView optical glass, compared to standard glass lenses used by many manufacturers, provides excellent clarity, colour and light transmission.
According to the manufacturer, up to 15% of light can be lost with a standard glass lens due to debris and reflectivity. CrystalView lenses, used in all PRO model masks, transmit up to 95% of the available light to the diver, ensuring clear and sharp vision.
This is topped off with a Tusa A/R anti-reflective coating that reduces internal and external reflected light. This reduction increases light transmission, resulting in significantly improved colours, clarity, contrast and better overall visibility underwater.
The glass was in turn embedded in a TRI-MIX frame, which consists of three separate layers, combined into one perfect structure. The frame is made of polyurethane (PuRiMaX) and a metal framework using cross beams and combined with the excellent strength of polycarbonate, all bolted together to create a resistant, almost armoured whole.
Of course, this is only one side of the coin, because in addition to durability, a diving mask has to offer an appropriate level of comfort, and in the Tusa Paragon S model a strong emphasis has been placed on this. The proprietary Freedom and Fit II technologies are used to ensure that the mask not only fits perfectly, but also remains comfortable for a long time, thanks in part to the rounded silicone collar.
What completes the look is the quick adjust buckle system, 3D strap and angle strap adjuster with side grip. The quick buckle adjustment system incorporates a newly designed low profile buckle. The result is a compact, lightweight, high-tech mask design that is quick and easy to adjust. TUSA’s patented 3D strap adapts perfectly to the natural curvature of the head and provides exceptional comfort. In turn, the five angled strap adjusters allow for extensive micro-adjustment on the left and right sides of the mask. This translates into gentle vertical and horizontal pressure adjustments on the face for an optimal fit.
