On Thursday, January 21, the organiser of Europe’s largest diving trade show Boot – Messe Düsseldorf – announced the cancellation of this year’s event. At the same time, a date has been given for the next edition, which will take place from 22-30 January 2022.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic and the associated restrictions and global safety measures, the next edition of Boot Düsseldorf, scheduled for early 2021, has been cancelled.

Initially, this year’s fair was postponed from 21-31 January to 17-25 April 2021, as announced we informed our readers in early December, but ultimately the organisers were forced to cancel the entire event.

The continuing high level of infection and the fact that the end of the lockdown is currently unpredictable make the resumption of trade show activities at the end of April seem increasingly unrealistic. We have reassessed the situation with our partners and have jointly decided to cancel Boot 2021 early. Our priority is the health and planning safety of our exhibitors, visitors and service providers. All efforts will now be focused on the successful organisation of Boot 2022,” reads the official statement

Interestingly, it was also reported that work is underway to make a hybrid online variant available from 2022, which will, among other things, enable digital participation in seminars and events taking place during Boot Düsseldorf.
