It’s finally official! Yesterday morning (Asian time) Nauticam presented a new housing. And not just any new one, because it’s for the Sony A6500. Ever since Sony unveiled this model in autumn 2016, everyone has been raving about its capabilities. Because and cool AF, and fast continuous mode and excellent film capabilities (4K with 30 p and Full HD with 100p).

Following in the footsteps of “perfection” and at the same time building on the experience of the Sony A-family mirrorless cases, as well as Panasonic and Olympus, the new case was immediately configured in a “fuller” version than before.

The kit therefore includes the base with handles, the external shutter release or the leak sensor with electronics for the pressure valve, which are ordered straight away anyway.

One of the “Achilles’ heels” of Sony’s A-series mirrorless cameras, is the very high battery usage with the simultaneous low capacity of the battery offered.

This affliction, easy to solve on the surface has become a rope around the neck of underwater filmmakers using the A6000, A6300 or A7 versions I and II.

Nuticam listened to their voices and decided to solve this problem by offering an optional in-case battery with 2.5 times the capacity of the one offered by Sony.
