The crew of a vessel belonging to the Maritime Institute in Gdansk have located another interesting wreck on the bottom of the Baltic Sea. From the first information it appears that the wreck is very interesting and sank during the First World War.

Polish scientists found the first trace of the wreck thanks to clear magnetometer readings. Subsequent research confirmed that they were dealing with a sunken wreck. So far, it has been established that the located vessel may be a two-chambered steel steamer from 1864.

Thanks to Soviet military maps from the First World War, it can be assumed that the vessel, measuring about 60m, fell victim to a mine barrage.

Spring is coming and there are more and more interesting places on the Baltic. Many of them are waiting for divers, others are only slowly revealing their secrets. However, nothing stands in the way of making them available to the public after exploration by the appropriate institutions. By the way, what is the story behind these new finds?

More about the find can be found here.
