The Aquarius Underwater Research Station is the last such site still in operation. The installation is located at a depth of about 18m and over the years has turned from an ‘alien’ feature, into a piece of the local Florida Keys reef.

On Monday, July 16, One World One Ocean will join Dr. S. Earle – a National Geographic researcher – along with D.J. Roller of Liquid Pictures 3D to crew the underwater station. They will spend six days there together. For those who want to know in real time what is happening underwater, the crew will be preparing interviews and video footage.

Since 1993. Since 1993, the research centre in Florida has been helping to study and understand the processes occurring on coral reefs and in the surrounding environment. Aquarius is also the place where employees of the American Space Agency – NASA – prepare for work in space. During this time, the centre has provided valuable research, the results of which have shown how little we know about the underwater world.
