The body of a diver who went missing on Wednesday, June 12, while diving in a river near the town of Chickasaw in the US state of Alabama has been found. Witnesses who notified police reported that the man had not returned from a dive in Chickasaw Creek, located within William Brooks Park.

Search teams and divers from various police departments showed up at William Brooks Park to conduct the search. Police and fire officials initially found the boat from which the missing man and his friend were diving.

Authorities believe he entered the water by lowering himself down a rope tied to the boat, near an overpass east of Highway 43. The release also said homemade scuba diving equipment was found in the boat. This is one of the hypothetical causes of the accident that investigators have assumed.
