Why does the GoPro require a special housing for underwater photography? Well, because to get the widest possible angles on the surface its lens is convex. This works very well under normal conditions, but under water it results in a blurry and fuzzy image.

That’s why the Dive Housing has been fitted with a large flat lens to correct this error and allow you to record much better quality videos. While most voices are very favourable about it, there are also opinions that the lens presses into the lens as the pressure increases. As the two planes come into contact, the image becomes blurry and out of focus. However, the problem has not been found in too many housings and this may be an isolated case.
