Almost a year after an oceanic whitetip shark was sighted in the Red Sea with the rubber of its breathing apparatus lodged in its body with a fatal grip, the animal was freed and its life is no longer in danger.

Since its sighting at the end of 2018, the shark has been searched for by many divers, with all encounters with it being reported on a daily basis in dedicated social media groups. A great many people have been involved to find the animal as soon as possible and free it from the deadly grip it was in due to one man’s stupidity.
