Seven daredevils set off on a voyage around the world!

You could say that they have already completed the first stage of their journey – the hard work stage of their dream voyage, because they have been preparing for many years to set sail on the adventure of a lifetime. Despite numerous difficulties along the way, and even the postponement of the first sailing date, today they say that nothing better could have happened to them. The yacht has gained a lot during this time, and the crew has been strengthened by the presence of wonderful people who now form an “unstoppable team”, as they say.

During this expedition, the crew will reach all oceans and continents – travelling in the air, on the ground, on the water and under water. On board their seagoing sailing yacht OSHEE, apart from typical exploration equipment, there is also equipment for extreme sports, including diving. DIVERS24 has assumed patronage of the voyage and you will be able to follow the actions of the crew on our pages!

The ship’s holds will contain equipment for trekking and alpine climbing, diving, freediving, kitesurfing or paragliding – free and powered. They also managed to fit four bicycles, two kayaks, surfboards or SUPs.

The team managed to get a main sponsor of this expedition, which is OSHEE. As Magda explains, “OSHEE inspires, motivates to action, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. It cooperates with those who are well known for their – especially sporting – achievements” and adds: “That is why we could not imagine a better cooperation. They support what we do and cheer us on, in my opinion it’s rare to get such a good match in sponsorship cooperation”.

The crew’s aim is to inspire action, see the places of the disappearing world, build awareness of responsibility for our planet, and convince people to be open to other people and other cultures, especially our most distant ones. They will talk about this in films and photographs, and not just any photographs, because Marta, a professional photographer, and Tomek, a filmmaker, editor and cameraman, are on board.

The expedition route itself is very exciting. The OSHEE World Expedition will set off for North Africa along the north and west coasts of mainland Europe, now skirting Scandinavia to hook up with it on the way back. The European leg of the expedition will end at the Strait of Gibraltar before reaching Africa in July.

As Blazej says, “The plan is not only to visit the Moroccan coast, but also to go inland and into the mountains. Next up is Madeira and the Canary Islands, where the participants intend to admire the wealth of nature and indulge in their sporting passions. Then it’s time for Western Sahara, rocky Mauritania and Gamba. The last stop in Africa will be the Cape Verde Islands, from where they will make the “jump” across the Atlantic to Brazil at the end of October/beginning of November 2018, straight to the Fernando de Noronha archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

They will then sail to Uruguay and Argentina, which they will spend the last quarter of 2018 exploring. They will welcome the new year in Buenos Aires or the Arctic and then circumnavigate the infamous Cape Horn from the west and, after a month’s rest in February, make the “jump” through the Drake Strait arriving in the Arctic.

There they will visit the Polish Research Station. In March, after crossing the west coast again, they will head north – along the coast of Chile, where they will climb Aconcagua, the highest mountain outside the Himalayas at almost 7000 m above sea level. From there they will turn west towards the exotic islands of the South Pacific and sail towards New Zealand and Australia. And this is not the end of the journey. The expedition is planned for three and a half years.
