“Place of Fear”

In the opening part of this remarkable series, Robbie Schmittner and his buddy Toddy Waelde, pledge to protect this diving mecca that is undoubtedly the caves of the Yucatan. Robbie also warns against the forces destroying the cenotes in the region. Toddy, in turn, while diving a previously unknown ceramic vessel that could be thousands of years old!

“Just Breathe”

Following their commitments, Robbie Schmittner cites a list of clues from local legend, Guillermo De Anda. The renowned archaeologist leads them to a dry cave containing an ancient altar and other sacred artifacts. On their final dive, the team rush to the aid of a friend – Jeanna Edgerton – who is in considerable trouble as a result of an equipment failure.

“Yab Yum”

On this trip, Robbie takes us to the site of his greatest discovery to date – the giant Yab Yum sinkhole. In this huge underground cavity, we can admire a beautiful array of stalactites, stalagmites and other geological wonders. In this part, Guillermo De Anda and Dante Garcia reappear and join a group of divers to explore the bottom of the cave. During the exploration they come across, among other things, the remains of a bear, dating back to the Ice Age.

All video footage was captured using a GoPro Hero4 camera.
