The new dive computer provides a whole new level of features and functions. In 2017, divers looking for a computer that guarantees a full range of features and is affordable will be able to choose a computer for themselves from Scubapro’s proposed two new models. The new Scubapro Aladin Sport (Matrix) and Scubapro Aladin H (Matrix) offer a mass of features and impressive computing power at a very reasonable price.
The computers have an attractive front panel in silver-metallic. Both computers carry out calculations based on Uwatec’s established and proven algorithm – the ZHL16 ADT MB and PMG (Predictive Multi-Gas), allow up to 3 gases of 21-100% oxygen to be programmed, microbubble settings to be entered and the PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) system calculates safe ascent. In addition, both computers feature an updated screen, with an eye-friendly dot matrix display section and an easy-to-read digital compass.
Approved for use down to a depth of 120 metres. The new Scubapro Aladin (Matrix) computers feature visual and audible alarms, a dive planner and logbook that can be downloaded to a PC, and are also compatible with an Android and iOS app via Bluetooth. The battery in each of these models lasts for 200 to 300 dives and can be replaced by the user.
The Scubapro Aladin Sport (Matrix) has three modes – Scuba, Freedive and Gauge (depth gauge). It can be worn on the wrist (strap) or mounted in a two-piece console with a pressure gauge.
The Scubapro Aladin H (Matrix) is a compact dive computer on a hose, providing gas data integration. It incorporates RBT (Remaining Bottom Time) values into its algorithm and offers two modes of operation – Scuba and Gauge.
Features and functions of Aladin Matrix series computers
– The predictive multi-gas algorithm of the PMG ZHL16 ADT MB performs calculations for 3 gases (21-100% O2).
– The microbubble levels allow the degree of conservatism of the algorithm’s calculations to be selected to suit the diver’s level of experience, physical condition and age.
– PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) calculates deep stops to ensure diver safety, taking into account nitrogen saturation, current and previous dives and breathing mixes.
– The computer display has an easy-to-read segmented display on the top and middle lines, plus an eye-friendly matrix display on the bottom line.
– A digital compass is displayed in the bottom line of the matrix display, allowing navigation at depth and on the surface.
– Active display illumination, a full suite of watch functions, bookmark function, dive planner and logbook are just some of the features available.
– Two black plastic buttons ensure easy access to operating modes and programming of basic parameters.
– The user-replaceable CR2450 battery is calculated to last two/three years or 200/300 dives, whichever comes first (the battery compartment is independent of the computer electronics).
– Scubapro Aladin Sport(Matrix) has three operating modes – Scuba (dive), Freedive and Gauge (depth gauge).
– The Scubapro Aladin H (Matrix) is a gas integrated, offering two modes of operation – Scuba and Gauge. Its algorithm calculates remaining time on the bottom (RBT) and estimates effort based on respiratory rate. The computer has a protective casing, shielding the connection between the HP hose and the DC’s HP sensor.
– On both models, dive data can be easily uploaded, stored and analysed on a PCMac, plus the system is compatible with Android and iOS apps, thanks to the use of the new Bluetooth 4.0 interface.
Summary
With the Scubapro Aladin Sport (Matrix) and Scubapro Aladin H (Matrix), divers have a choice of two new advanced dive computers packed with a full set of features. Both share many of the same key features including multi-gas and built-in digital compass, semi-matrix LCD display and Bluetooth communication, while providing significant differences in the features on offer, thus allowing divers to choose the model that best suits their individual needs.
