The project of exploration of Irish caves, brought its author, the late Artur Kozłowski, the award Kolos 2010. The film “Riders of the Storm” is a summary and documentation of dives carried out under this project. The 30-minute production takes us to the places where we can follow the actions of the film’s protagonists from behind the scenes.

Looking at the level of difficulty that characterised the entire mission, it’s hard to believe that Artur started his diving adventure in 2006. After a short episode involving several dives in the warm waters of the Gulf of Osman, in 2007 he began the next stage as a cave diver. He gained his first skills under the watchful eye of a Welsh instructor, Marytna Farr.

Arthur has persistently penetrated the flooded caves of Ireland, searching for a connection between the Polltoophill corridor systems in Castletown and Polldeelin in Kiltartan, County Gallway. In 2010, his work was crowned with success. More than a hundred hours spent underwater and kilometres of underwater corridors explored, led to the achievement of his goal.

Arthur left, doing what he loved and following his restless spirit, which pushed him towards what was undiscovered and needed to be known. He pursued his dreams and passions to the very end. He used to say about his dives: “The idea is that I enter where others turn back”.
