Rebreather Hollis Prism 2

The closed circuit market is one of the most rapidly developing branches when we talk about diving equipment. Recently, many new units have appeared, which have an extremely unique design and whose creators draw attention to the undoubted advantages of their devices. One of the most interesting rebreathers available on the market is certainly the Hollis Prism 2.

The world is moving forward at a tremendous pace, and the technology of yesterday, today is already heavily outdated. So it should come as no surprise that the manufacturers of diving equipment are constantly working on new solutions with which they want to conquer the market. It is no different in the case of closed circuits, which in recent years have experienced a real boom.

As these devices are relatively expensive, the developers have to work hard to convince customers to choose their unit, and the equipment they create must guarantee a high level of security, combined with the best possible performance and, of course, low weight. And this is still just the tip of the iceberg.

The Hollis Prism 2 is a CCR-type unit, which will prove useful in the exploration of open waters, flooded caves, as well as wrecks. Taking a closer look at it, there is no denying that the creators focused on versatility, or rather the possibility of personalisation for each diver’s own preferences.

Thus, the device enables operation in eCCR and mCCR modes, which will certainly make many potential users look in its direction with a kinder eye, because, as we know, each of these solutions has its pros and cons. Additionally, the anti-lung can be mounted at the back or at the front.

It is worth noting – and this is a feature that Hollis representatives particularly expose – the radial scrubber, which features the best possible protection time, isolation and breathing resistance. It is interesting that the container for the scrubber is made of transparent Engineered Thermoplastic, which makes it possible to see if this part of our unit has been prepared correctly.

The Hollis engineering team, in creating this model, has placed a premium on customisability. The various variants mentioned above is one thing, but another, and perhaps the most important in this aspect, is the fact that in order to purchase the Prism 2, we can use the Hollis Prism 2 Builder section, found on the manufacturer’s website. Here we can specify in every detail how our rebreather should be configured and what elements it should consist of.

A detail that is not insignificant to many is the fact that the Prism 2 is CE certified and can therefore be marketed in EU markets.
