Until recently, the use of rebreather diving equipment was associated quite unambiguously. Someone diving with a rebreather had to be either a soldier or an advanced technical diver. Apart from the price and operating costs, it was the level of skill and training one had to represent that was the main factor drawing the line between the “grey mass” and the “chosen ones”. This situation, however, is constantly changing.

The popularisation of closed circuits, their increasing availability and better understanding, has caused them to arouse more and more interest among less advanced divers. It is to this interest that organisations associated mainly with recreational training do not remain deaf. We have already informed you about The collaboration that SSI and Poseidon have established with each otherand now it is time for PADI.

There had already been products on the market labelled Type-R (recreational). These were much more user-friendly and characterised by a much less complicated operation and, consequently, training the diver to use this equipment was also easier.

In the PADI offer rebreather training will be divided into two parts. The first part will allow the trainee to conduct dives up to 18m using a specific model marked Type-R. Then, it will be possible to develop our qualifications to the depths of 30m and 40m.

Please note that PADI training, will be for a specific reba model, so by doing a course on model A, we will not be able to use model B.

The first training courses will start as soon as the preparation of the training materials has been completed. The initial forecast is that this will happen within 6-12 months.
