The first dry suits were intended to be indestructible and to provide complete protection from the hostile environment of the deep sea. Unfortunately, the new barrier that man put between himself and the water was not very flexible and restricted his movements, but it was the starting point for the further evolution of the dry suit.
Fortunately for us divers, the revolution of the Hogarthian era came along – times began to promote diving as a sport and discipline that was much more accessible, and the principles of DIR and the desire to achieve the best possible buoyancy changed the way we think about diving and exploring the underwater world.
From then on, divers began their search for the best dry suit. Manufacturers began to compete in models that were lighter, more durable and offered more freedom of movement. All in order to get as much pleasure from diving as possible.
The result of this long journey is Santi’s latest dry suit model, E.motion. A product that makes diving even more comfortable. All a diver needs underwater to be happy is to always feel safe and dry and, above all, free.
The creators of the E.motion wetsuit focused on these aspects when designing the latest product by Santi. Now we have a finished product in our hands that tempts with its modern design and interesting solutions.
A great deal has been achieved by using a unique ripstop nylon fabric, produced exclusively for Santi. It allows for maximum stretchability. The material is very light and soft, but at the same time very strong and flexible, so it is ideal for the production of a modern dry suit.
Places particularly sensitive to damage were reinforced with extremely durable fabric known from the Elite model. This well-thought-out combination made it possible to create a suit which weighs only 3.2 kg (a suit made of cordura weighs 5-6 kg!), and yet is extremely resistant to damage.
Great care has been taken to design a special cut of the suit in the crotch area, where suits are most likely to break. The wetsuit is constructed to avoid the intersection of two seams, which usually cause many problems. Santi has invented a one-piece crotch patch for this purpose, avoiding leaks in this sensitive area.
The gas-tight metal lock was invented 60 years ago, so here too it is high time for innovation. The E.motion model is fitted as standard with TIZIP Masterseal, a plastic lock specially developed for dry suits. It is flat, very robust, dirt-resistant and very flexible. This locking system makes much more use of the E.motion features.
Like every Santi wetsuit, E.motion is equipped with two large and robust cargo pockets with bungee bands for mounting equipment.
The right pocket has a useful additional zipped pocket for a double ender.
The standard kit also includes a hood and a medium pressure hose.
