Many people who have dived in the Adriatic on the Croatian side of the Adriatic have certainly come across the almost legendary boat called Vranjak. This 23m long and 5m wide yacht was built in 1942. It was able to accommodate 18 divers on its deck, providing them with a high level of comfort. Unfortunately, the tooth of time does not spare anyone or anything, and therefore it was decided to build a successor that would continue the good traditions of the 70-year-old Vranjak.
In May 2012, Vranjak I, made of steel, 27m long and designed especially for divers, will set sail on her first voyage. 10 air-conditioned cabins, each with private bathrooms, are spread over 3 decks. The diving deck and the large diving platform are also impressive. The entire vessel is powered by 2 MAN 360 PS turbo-diesel engines.
In total, Vranjak I has 4 decks. On the first, upper deck, you will find such equipment as a dinghy with an engine, a crane and a compressor 2x Bauer Poseidon 500l. In addition, when the pontoon is on the water and the cylinders are full of air and the compressor is resting, the people staying on this deck can also relax by catching some sun.
However, this is not the only place where you can enjoy a moment of rest and relaxation. Another deck, the third one, apart from 3 cabins (including the captain’s cabin), has enough space in the bow and stern area to sunbathe and recharge your batteries before your next dive.
On the main deck, the aforementioned diving platform is located aft. Further forward, there is storage space for diving equipment and cylinders. When visiting the air-conditioned saloon, we can enjoy a bit of electronics in the form of a TV+DVD set. The bar area and galley are also located here. One of the cabins is also located on this deck.
The last is the lower deck. This is the main living area on Vranjak I. It is here that the remaining 6 cabins for the yacht’s passengers are located. In total, the successor to Vranjak, can take 20 divers and 5 extra guests on board.
Vranjak I will operate on routes North, South, Vis and Kornati. For details of specific routes, you can consult the specially prepared sections on the vessel’s homepage.
