A team of experienced Baltic wreck divers scour the sea bed in search of sunken ships. Each of these vessels has a story – war, labour camps, spies, family tragedies. The last living witnesses of the events, historians and documentary filmmakers uncover the history of the ships lying at the bottom and search for answers to the questions that trouble them.

Certainly, in each of the 10 episodes of the series, the team of divers will be uncovering the secrets of subsequent wrecks for the viewers. Among them are the ferry Jan Heweliusz, the cargo ship Mount Vernon and the largest wreck of the Baltic Sea – the German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin.

Mysteries of the Baltic Wrecks episode 1 Mount Vernon

A team of divers led by Tomek Stachura prepares for their next expedition. Meanwhile, Tomek receives a call from Elin Linde, the granddaughter of the last captain of the Mount Vernon ship. The vessel sank in circumstances that remain unexplained to this day. That is why Elin and her mother have been trying for many years to uncover the mystery of Captain Gosta Rudnert’s death. After sixty years, Sweden is declassifying some documents. It turns out that the wreck lies near the Polish coast. Elin, who dives herself and has searched for the wreck several times on her own, finally wants to see the captain’s bridge where her grandfather may have died, as well as the documents held by the Polish authorities. Will her mission succeed? Will Mount Vernon get the truth? These and many other questions will be answered in the first episode of the series: Tajemnice wreków Bałtyku.

The series premieres on the Canal+ Discovery channel and via the nc+go app.
