Well-known dive equipment manufacturer Scubapro has announced the addition of a new item to its range of dive computers. “Meridian”, is an obvious answer to the trend prevailing recently on the market, where several models of watch computers have appeared. This will certainly please the followers of this brand, because until now they felt the lack of a similar device in the offer of the American company.
Scubapro meridian is a complete dive computer with all the necessary functions, packed into a very stylish case made of the highest quality 316L steel. In addition to the quality and functionality, as usual, proper design has been taken care of, which makes it possible to wear it as an elegant watch in addition to its main purpose.
We can use it in 3 modes: Scuba, Apnea and Gauge. The display, despite its small size, is well thought-out and very clear. Menu navigation is done using 4 buttons and is very intuitive. What do the individual modes offer us?
Scuba:
2 mixes 21-100% oxygen + decompression calculation
complete dive planner, calculates not only no-decompression dives, but also ascent rate, settings, previous dives (including both gases)
optional belt to monitor heart rate, calculate decompression loads and help choose the right decompression model
enhanced micro-bubble algorithm and PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) helps optimise diving
Adjustable dial illumination, adapted to different water transparency
Apnea:
display of current depth, dive time (min and sec), dive and ascent speed, heart rate monitoring (if optional strap is fitted) and consecutive dive number display
manual start, allows for more accurate measurements (sampling every 0.25s) to give the user the most precise depth reading
Freediving-specific alarms and warnings as well as water density control and logbook
Gauge:
necessary information, without decompression calculations
max. depth 120m, plus time and temperature monitoring, stopwatch and average depth, can be easily reset at the touch of a button
all alerts and warnings, apart from the low battery alarm, are switched off
After a dive, regardless of which profile you used, you can download your profile using Scubapro LogTrak software, compatible with Windows and Mac OS. Additional and interesting features include a built-in thermometer that also works on the surface, altitude measurements for additional mountain activities, easy time zone coordination and battery level display.
