From the findings made public by the police so far, it appears that there were two unrelated incidents that ended tragically for the participants.

In the first incident, a 64-year-old diver died as a result of difficulties encountered while diving at Reqqa Point in Zebbug. Witnesses to the incident called the police around noon to the diving accident victim. Unfortunately, the injured Austrian man could not be saved.

The second incident occurred during a group dive by a team of 10 divers. A pair of British divers, a man and a woman, died as a result of the problems they encountered. The third person, who was also in serious trouble, managed to save himself and swim to shore. Afterwards it was necessary to provide medical assistance to the injured man.

More information about the incidents will be provided by local authorities as the investigation continues.
