Making kids' dreams come true - 3City Diving Day!

In Gdynia, on the beach in Orłowo, on Saturday 18 June 2016, an event with a water and diving atmosphere will be held – 3City Diving Day. The event aims to promote the beauty of the Baltic depths and raise funds to fulfil the dreams of seriously ill children under the care of the Trzeba Marzyć Foundation.

The open diving day under the slogan “Dive with your dreams” will be organised for the second time in Gdynia Orłowo, near the beach bordering the fishing harbour. Qualified and experienced diving instructors have been invited to participate in the event. They will supervise the whole event and accompany those willing to start an underwater adventure. Participation in the event will require prior registration and all participants will be provided with appropriate diving equipment, diving suits, warm tea and a place to change clothes.

The event will have a non-commercial character and all payments from participants will go towards fulfilling the dreams of seriously ill children under the care of the foundation.

The Trzeba Marzyć Foundation has been fulfilling the dreams of seriously ill children for over eight years. So far, it has allowed many of its charges to forget for a moment about the difficulties of struggling with the disease. More children are still waiting to believe that dreams really do come true.

“I am the President of the Must Dream Foundation, but apart from the foundation’s and professional activities, I also devote myself to my passion of diving. As a resident of Gdynia, fascinated by the beauty of the Baltic Sea, I often take underwater trips, photographing and filming the underwater world. I have always received a lot of questions from friends and acquaintances looking at my photos and videos on how to experience such adventures. Hence the idea for an event like the diving day for everyone.” – explains foundation president Rafał Dadej.

The attractiveness of the proposal itself is increased by the fact that there is no other event in Poland where, after choosing the equipment on the beach, you can go directly into the water.

Participation in the event involves only the payment of a voluntary contribution on the day of the event, which will be used for the purposes of the foundation. The amount of the contribution is at the discretion and capacity of each participant.

Last year’s action also attracted divers who wanted to take the opportunity and also dive on the famous “Orłowska reef” or in the vicinity of the nearby pier. Hence, the idea to combine this year’s action with “demo days”, during which equipment manufacturers and distributors could promote their products.

The Trzeba Marzyć Foundation was set up in September 2006 and has since made over 600 dreams come true. Among them were children dreaming of a battery-powered car or a laptop, boys dreaming of being a soldier or a policeman, and girls wishing to become princesses. All these dreams came true thanks to people of good will and institutions whose representatives join in the magical power of making dreams come true. The Foundation does not employ any staff, and all the money it raises goes towards making the dreams of seriously ill children come true.
