Unfortunately, due to the pandemic situation and restrictions, the Boot fair in Germany was cancelled. The Salon International de la Plongée in France has been postponed until March.

Two major diving events that were already scheduled to take place in January 2022 will not take place. The organisers have cancelled the Boot fair in Düsseldorf scheduled for 22-30 January. All due to restrictions introduced by the authorities of the North Rhine-Westphalia region. As a result, the organisers had to cancel all mass events with more than 750 guests.

Trade fair Boot 2022 Local authorities cited fears of a significant spread of a new variant of the virus, Omikron, as the reason. The information was released on Wednesday evening Ministry of Health North Rhine-Westphalia.

At the moment, we must continue to be very careful. Although it is not yet clear at what rate Omikron will spread. However, action must be taken now. For this reason, the region has already banned large football matches and sporting events involving the public. It is logical that large fairs with visitors from different regions and countries around the world will not take place in January either said Minister Karl-Josef Laumann.

TheBoot Fair in Düsseldorf has been forced to cancel for the second year running. They have also given a new date of 21-29 January 2023, provided of course nothing thwarts these plans.

Salon de la Plongée

At the same time, the news of the postponement of the Salon International de la Plongée was announced by the French. However, they are determined that the 23rd Edition of the fair will still take place this year. Therefore, they did not cancel the event, but only postponed it to a more favourable date of 11-14 March 2022.

We are fully mobilised to deal with all the topics affected by the change of the fair date. Thank you for your trust, your positive messages, your support which helps us to act said Helene de Tayrac-Senik
