Not surprisingly, everything went smoothly and the photos and videos recorded are very impressive. The safety of the 110 participants was supervised by safety divers, and professional medical and rescue teams were also on standby.

Largest underwater mermaid show The long road

Preparations for the show took many months. Without a doubt, the Sanya Atlantis and PADI China teams put a lot of work and commitment into the planning, execution and logistical support in the run-up to the event.

Everyone put a lot of work into the project, as training, coaching and many joint rehearsals and exercises were necessary. In the end, after an intensive preparation period, constant corrections and adjustments (from the director to the actors, the film crew to the security guards and logistics) everyone was ready. The whole team of people working on the event gave their all and contributed to creating a great show.

Largest underwater mermaid show The most distinctive location in Sanya Atlantis – the Ambassador Lagoon – was chosen as the venue for the performance. The transparent acrylic wall that separates the audience from the water tank here is 16.5 metres long, 8.3 metres high and 0.65 metres thick. Inside is 13500 tonnes of seawater, and on 28 April the additional contents were 110 PADI Mermaid divers.

The Amazing PADI Mermaid Grand final

For the biggest underwater mermaid show and Guinness record to become a reality, all participants had to be in the water at the same time. On 28 April, excitement and excitement accompanied everyone from the very morning. The grand finale and what everyone had worked for over the past months was fast approaching.

110 PADI Sirens

Ms Wu Xiaohong, who oversees Guinness World Records attempts, was also on hand. She read out the rules that had to be followed for the largest underwater mermaid show to be recognised.

The show started punctually at 9.30 a.m. The changing formation, beautiful posture and breathtaking performance created an amazing atmosphere. The people gathered that day at Sanya Atlantis gazed as if enchanted at the magical spectacle created by 110 PADI Mermaid divers. At the end, Ms Xiaohong confirmed that everything had taken place according to protocol and the rehearsal was valid.
