For many years the market of cameras for extreme sports (and not only) has been dominated by the GoPro brand. Successive devices have established the company as the undisputed leader and true hegemon. Despite the difficult task, Nikon intends to change the situation and for this purpose launches a new product – the KeyMission360 camera.

Nikon is of course famous for its great photo-video equipment, but the KeyMission360 is the first camera of its kind to appear in the company’s range. Without a doubt, the creators of the GoPro have succeeded in showing just how huge the market is and what opportunities it presents. But what does Nikon have to offer to even think about breaking through with its product?

Well, it couldn’t do without a little revolution and as a result we get a camera recording 360º video in 4K quality! A strong hit, but the KeyMission360 is to become the flagship model of Nikon’s new “family” of cameras. So for now we have a device unique in every respect, which does not have its equivalent in the competition.

KeyMission360 has a small square shape and is only slightly larger than the GoPro Hero Session 4. On both sides it has a lens placed. The whole, as the manufacturer assures, is resistant to falls from a height of up to 2 meters, dust, low temperatures and … waterproof to a depth of 30 meters! And this means that the youngest child of Nikon will certainly soon provide a lot of interesting material from underwater. In addition, the camera features electronic image vibration reduction.

Unfortunately, for now we do not know much more, as the detailed specification has not yet been made public. The official release has been announced for spring 2016. Unfortunately, the price of the device is not known at the moment.
