Unpleasant news has reached us from Austria. It turns out that it will no longer be possible to dive in the legendary periodic lake Grünen See. All because of the progressive degradation of the surrounding nature. A message informing about this sad fact has been posted on tragoess-gruenersee.at.

“After careful consideration of numerous expert reports and opinions and taking into account regulations aimed at protecting nature and the landscape, the manager of the Grünen See lake is forced to ban all tourist and recreational activities. The ban is dictated by the desire to protect the site, which would lose its unique character if it were to be exploited further.

We hope that all lovers of the Grünen See will take this decision with understanding.”

As you can see, it looks like this is the final end of diving in the characteristic emerald basin. For the last years Grünen See was a place of many diving excursions not only for teams from Poland, but also from the whole Europe.

The lake very quickly became known as a real rarity and a unique attraction. For many years it has been pleasing the eyes of divers. Today, all we can do is reminisce, look at the photos and films that have been made during our numerous visits to this place.
