Pressure affects humans all the time, regardless of whether we are above or below water. The Education Department of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, which invites you to another series of free lessons as part of the Culture Available programme, will tell you about it. This year it will be a lesson for classes 4-6 “Diver under pressure”. – We invite you to workshops that will explain what pressure is and why it can be dangerous – says Weronika Pelc-Garska, who will lead the classes. During the classes, we will learn what decompression is, how dangerous the difference in pressure between the surface and the bottom of the sea is, and what the “Martini effect” consists in. During the classes, students will perform an experiment with Descartes’ diver, and will build a model of a lung on their own!

Lessons will take place from 4 May to 20 December 2016 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12pm and are subject to online booking. To use the booking, please visit the Museum’s website www.rezerwacje.nmm.pl.

For details about the classes call: 58 329 87 33.
